Swelling distortion builds, giving way to the bare and fuzzy guitar riff that follows. Lead singer Gavin Rossdale’s breathy vocals begin both intimate and prescient, preceding his wistful instruction, “…don’t let the days go by… Glycerine.”

This, of course, has absolutely nothing to do with non-alcoholic glycerin infusions, but there’s no way a child of the ’90s such as myself can avoid bringing up the pop-grunge act Bush when hearing the word “glycerine” or “glycerin” (the British and American spellings, respectively). Apologies to anyone under 40 if you have no idea what I’m talking about.

Now, onto non-alcoholic glycerin infusions.
