Mindful Drinking Fest is Back!
Celebrate the culture of mindful drinking and great non-alcoholic drinks in Washington, D.C. during Dry January 2024
It’s that time of year again. For those who drink mindfully, are sober curious, or simply want to try something new, Mindful Drinking Fest returns with a full weekend of events January 26-28, 2024 and a Grand Tasting Hall with over 120 non-alcoholic wines, beers, spirits, and cocktails. And it’s just in time for Dry January!
Mindful Drinking fest was founded by Maria Bastasch and I, with help from our former partner Erika Goedrich, this past January. Our stated goal:
We will be celebrating the delicious non-alcoholic wines, beers, spirits, and cocktails that have exploded onto the market as well as the growing culture of people who are mindful of what and how they drink.
In other words, we’re not just celebrating not drinking alcohol, we’re celebrating social wellness and the amazing array of non-alcoholic products that now exist.
This year, we’re proud to announce our first-time partnership with the Adult Non-Alcoholic Beverage Association (ANBA). ANBA has been the leader in gathering the top brands together to promote adult non-alcoholic beverages and make sure they’re available in any social setting.
Our amazing line-up includes event sponsors such as Sunnyside Mindful Drinking App, Töst Sparkling Wine, Ritual Zero Proof Spirits and over 40 non-alcoholic beverage producers.
What else to expect…
What to Expect:
We have stacked the weekend with events from the kickoff to the last day.
Event Highlights:
Opening Night: Kick off the festivities on Friday at 5 p.m. with a toast from Töst, a bar tour featuring top D.C. bars with non-alcoholic drink specials from Allegory, Death & Co, and Service Bar and a lively karaoke party with Zero Proof Nation.
Grand Tasting Hall: Experience Saturday and Sunday in the Grand Tasting Hall, featuring over 40 producers offering 120 different non-alcoholic beers, wines, spirits, and cocktails. And visit the Destination Bar for creative non-alcoholic cocktails crafted by bartenders from the U.S. and abroad, including Björn Taylor (Austin, TX), Pamela Wiznitzer (NYC, New York), and Joshua James (San Francisco, CA).
Boisson Pop-Up Store at Playhaus: Shop some of the top brands and take home something you discovered in the Grand Tasting Hall at Boisson’s pop-up store in Playhaus, an experiential art space in Union Market.
Wellness Events and Seminars: Engage in wellness seminars such as gentle yoga or forest bathing and seminars about mindful mixology with Nadya Khoja and myself and content marketing with Umarah Mughnee and SipSteady.
Non-Alcoholic Rave: Transform your Saturday night into an exhilarating non-alcoholic rave hosted by Disco Mary. Enjoy DJs, dancing, and delicious non-alcoholic drinks at Culture in Ivy City.
In other words, there’s a lot going on. But perhaps the single best part is that like-minded individuals get to share a drink, learn from each other, and have some fun. This is an event for a growing community that is fastly becoming a movement. A movement toward mindful consumption and delicious alternatives to alcohol.
